Navy Commander: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I play?
Navy Commander is a game of wits and strategy. The goal is to sink your opponents fleet before they sink yours. First you will place your ships on the board, then take turns with your opponent shooting at each other. If you hit a ship, you get to take another turn until you miss. Once all of one side's ships are sunk the game is over.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes! Navy Commander provides two ways to play against a friend. If they don't have a Sidekick, two players can play on the same device. Just pass it back and forth when the doors are closed so nobody cheats.
However, if your friend does have a sidekick and Navy Commander, the fun really begins! You can play them no matter where they are over the network. Just select 'New network game' and enter your friend's username to begin.
How long does each move take when playing over the network?
Usually no more than a few seconds! However, sometimes various issues might cause a move to take much longer. It will eventually get there though, so be patient.
I want to find opponents, where should I look?
You can find opponents by joining the AIM chatroom: sknavy
To join an AIM chatroom on your sidekick, from within AIM press the Menu button and the J key at the same time (Menu+J)
